Yea. I've done a fair bit of research and utilization of my common sense (that's what I would do) since I sent that post. But raising seems far more artistic; taking a flat piece of steel and shaping it into something great is to me a more fascinating process (albeit a longer and more difficult process).

a GOOD churburg 13, bp pattern. I have an old one and i don't like how the plates look when it's done. Many people want this body armour. I'd like to make it. I have good patterns for the Churburg 14 from Doug. Just not a a 13 i like.

I second this one. I have no idea where to find one and have never seen one either to take a stab blindly at it.nuke_c wrote:I would love a good C-Belt pattern.

If you are looking for a great bascinet pattern try Talbots fine accessories. Scroll a bit down and you find a good how to.

I doubt there are any bad ones, come to that. You can look at a C-belt assembled, and cut one out for yourself. Even if you divide it into left and right halves to conserve valuable tooling leather.nuke_c wrote:I would love a good C-Belt pattern.

I need to draw and post a picture of my too-simple rattan weapon hanger of leather that you can slip onto a belt, which gives a bit of rake to the sword, can't hurt you falling on it, can be understood looking at one, and is much easier to convey as a picture than in words. It uses up bits of strap or belt-blank.
The nimble-fingered can come up with its arrangement fooling about looping a strip of paper around, to make a belt loop and a larger weapon loop.

I think the C belt is derivative of Tandy's holster/ gun belt pattern.

Re: What patterns do people want to see in a pattern archive
I don't know where the "Valerius" patterns went after the shop was moved last. I assume Valerius (Aaron Toman) still has them. I didn't take them with me when I left (I was the other half of the pair).Frakki smiðjudrumbr wrote:Murdock can you tell me where i can get pattern from Valerius please?
Honestly, since then I have probably been happier without them. Having a pattern "that works" often tends to make people not look to see why the result isn't actually what they want.
Also, none of our patterns had any real instructions associated with them, so it would be hard to understand how to use them. One particularly bad example would be our bascinet half pattern. We had several. Some were intended to be used on flat steel. At least one was intended to be used as a cut pattern to get the bascinet half from a 12" spun bowl. They look pretty similar, but definitely don't work well if you interchange them.
Back to the original question, I expect Murdock drove over to Aaron's house and traced what he wanted. That is what other people did back when I was around.

Some good leather patterns, especially for breastplates/brigandine/lamellar, and gorgets would tickle me like whoa. Especially if they can include information on hardening that works well with the pattern for the sake of simplicity.

Re: What patterns do people want to see in a pattern archive
I also remember tracing patterns at an armour in.
Most armourers share the patterns.
I do not see anything wrong with that.
The most interesting to me was the basket hilt for rattan.
Raven War Band page has the best Batajensky (sp) helm pattern I ever saw.
Mine came out very nice to me, I used a black horse tail for the plume.
Planished bronze for the spangen bands and planished steel for the panels.
Brass 1/8" rivets all around.
Rings to hinge the cheek pieces.
A pattern is only as good as the armourer can pound it.
Best of luck on your quest.

I found the proper spelling for the helm, Batajnica.
Or you could go to the site and check it out.

I have some patterns...but they´d need completion by someone familiar with LibreOffice Draw. Made them based on videos and pictures I collected, they include some instructions on how to work the piece. Main issue to address is the sizing. brought them in the approx. range, but a skilled armourer would need to polish them. I have a whole collection... I´ll attach a pic to show an example.

Re: What patterns do people want to see in a pattern archive
Oh hey Randall^^ Sry didn´t notice your post
I´m still working on these things, improving, making more of them. I think I´ve gotten quite far...some recent help from the forum allowed me to understand Érics and Andreys procedures better.
I´m currently busy merging those schematics with the description catalog. Glad you like it
Best, Indi

I am looking for maximilian and gothic patterns, along with complimentary arming doublet patterns if you can provide them.
