In a few weeks I'll be looking at selling the pictured cuirass off to fund a more accurate reproduction, it will at that time have been worn to two 2day public tournaments here in australia.

I am aproximately 6'2" and 155Lbs, this cuirass fits over aketon and maille.

1mm stainless covered with 1.5mm black suede leather and steel dome rivets, straps are 4.5mm bridle leather with period buckles and buckle plates.

One fauld on the back and one on the front is wonky.

I have found mobility excellent with this.

Basically the backplate isnt quite right - needs alot more dishing, and the shape of the frontplate is a little off.
The original also had segmented shoulders which this one doesn't.
The covering isn't right for this kind of BP either - it could be velvet not suede.

Any other info just ask in htread so that anyone else who is interested can see :)

Thanks

Any chance you will bring it to HA? I'll be there Saturday and wouldn't mind trying it on, then working out when you'll be ready to sell it.

Cheers

I'll be fighting in it at HA so yes :)

bear in mind its a 2 person job currently to put it on, something I will try and fix before the sale of it but as its stainless I'm not getting my hopes up on fixing that particular issue.

All good, I'll bring a couple of squires with me, though it may fit them better then me!

We have someone who can fix the dishing, was it made by one of your guys?

I'll be with Phoenix for most of the day, but will stroll on over to see it in action!

It was made by me.

If worse comes to worse I probably can steal a squire or two for 5min.

bring a belt though, I need to put more buckles up the sides. currently a belt helps hold it nicely together (I use 2, my dagger belt and my nice plaque belt) its not a requirement for fitting - although it will help.

These are niggling issues that can (IMO) be lived with, but I am of the firm belief that I can produce a far better piece than this which is my primary reason for selling it.

Oh and with the niggling weight issues etc - it didnt stop me from wearing it for roughly 7hours straight oon the saturday at Abbey as I was called in last minuit to be a pawn for the chess match then security for the Danse Macabre.

Made by you? Oh then it is probably fine, I find people who work on their own gear are way more critical of it then me! It'll be way better then the BP I currently have (gdfb with velvet coating)

I will bring plenty of belts etc, I was knighted at abbey so have another pretty plaque belt, made by Bob from OLR lol.

I did see it already, I watched the chess match at Abbey, so I'll come say hey and work out which of us it fits best, weight won't be an issue, it comes with the territory!

Quite excited now, drop me a message to say what time would be best to come round, need to catch you when your not running off to a show, you guys sure like to pack alot into one day!

We have tournament with citadel at 10.30am... other than that I'll see if I can manage some light sparing before sneaking off to KEG's encampment at 5pm for single combats.

So long as you don't catch me while I'm eating lunch your fine :)

if you look closely you can see here where it comes in under the arm.

Faulds - while too large to be strictly accurate - do move nicely, you shouldn't lose any mobility wearing this.

you should be able to see the wonky back fauld here.

Reiterating, I'm looking for USD$300 + $80 international shipping, $40 domestic.

How big do you think it would be on someone 5'10" and about 170lbs.

Jump into the stuff you intend to wear under it and check the length from your shoulder to just under your ribs.

From shoulder to just under your ribs you want about 16" (40cm)
Around your torso just under your ribs you want to be not too much thicker than 40" (100cm) with a shoulder to waist of about 23" (59cm)

The only measurement off is my shoulder to ribs... I'll have to double check.

Let me put Dibs on it till I get a confimed measurement.

No clue how I'm going to get this past the Wife, but try I may!

I'll have measurements tonight. I have my fingers crossed. I had a very nice center split corrizina from Oaks Amoury (Sasuke), that I still kick myself for selling.

I probably shouldn't tell you then that I'll have a silk velvet covered corrazina with gold gilded fittings for sale in the next few months...

no, the one in the pictures (the black one) is a single piece breast, single piece back and faulds. based on an extant piece in munich.

Corrazina isn't pictured anywhere because I havent finished making it yet. (For a start the silk velvet arrived last week the wrong color.... Hot pink is not fire engine red...)

Wow, that would definatly stand out. I look forward to seeing pictures of the completed Coranza.
