Anyone make and sell kids helms? My daughter is 12 and likes to fight. I am not interested in hockey helmets.

Greetings Seved Ribbing-
I don't know what your requirements are beyond children's helm for your 12 year old daughter. But I have some leftover, small size, light gauge kits for assembling a Valsgarde 6 style helm. They are identical to what is on our website, but are either 14 ga. mild steel or 16 ga. stainless. I only have a couple left but I would be willing to let them go cheep! Like $40 delivered in the US. I don't offer them normally, these are left from a group buy for a school a few years ago.

Two more years, and I'll be looking to commission a couple of these myself. ;)

I think it was Bokalo that was offering aluminium helms for youth fighting as well.

I have a Norman nasal & St Wenseclause helm which might fit. They are for Living History though.

PMs replied to and the four I had available for this appear to be spoke for. If any back out I will let the next on the list know.
I realize inexpensive helms will always have a market, but is there really many looking for something for their children out of light gauge steel/stainless? I though most youth rules precluded metal as a material.

No, actually it seems that most are OK with metal helms and encourage period looking gear. They do, however, stress that the developing body cannot support the weight of a 12lb helm so 18ga ms or equivalent is probably good. These are Meridian YC rules I'm going by, but I see alot of hockey helemts and baseball helmets being used and they are not equivalent to 18ga MS, I would think. I've been wanting to get one of these for some time now and can only assume that you would find a demand for your helms in youth sizes. perhaps a run in aluminum or 18ga stainless or similar?
