I have five Anglo-Saxon pitchers that need to find a good home. I've made more than a dozen of these over the past semester, and while I originally didn't intend to part with any of them, I have more than I can ever use (or fit in my house!).
All five pitchers are made of a high-fired white stoneware, based on sketches of 10-11th century pitchers excavated at Lincoln.
Pitchers 1-3 were fired in a wood kiln (an anagama kiln, to cone 12 - it was a really fun process, and took a week from loading to firing, cooling, and unloading). They are glazed on the inside with a clear imitation lead glaze (but completely lead free and food-safe). The clear glaze was also splattered on the outside. All of the color and texture on the outside of these pitchers is from the ashes in the kiln.
Pitchers 4 and 5 were gas fired. Like the wood fired pitchers, they're glazed on the inside with a clear food-safe glaze. I sprinkled the outsides with ash and left them otherwise unglazed (like many of the originals I studied).
Shipping is $10 CONUS. I might be able to knock off a few dollars if I'm shipping more than one pitcher - I would have to check with the post office first.

pitcher review
My hubby Seaweed bought 1 and 5 for us and I must say I am well pleased with them. The work is incredible on them and will enjoy them for a long time. I would recommend these pitchers to anyone. You have such GREAT craftmanship. They arrived well packaged. Great communication as well through the process. I look forward to doing business with you again in the future. thanks so much.
