It has come to our attention recently that some of our 2 piece rivets were popping on gear we have been selling lately.
First of all, I appreciate the feedback. We cannot fix it if we do not know there is a problem.
Here is what happened- In order to try to keep improving our products, I have moved to a heavier English Bridle leather in stead of a lighter latigo leather for our armor. It is a little more expensive but it looks and last longer. We have also increased the thickness of the aircraft aluminum splints we have been using. It seems that splinted leather has been very popular but the splints were getting dented far to easy for my taste. What we DIDN'T realize is that the 2 piece rivets that we were using were not long enough in the shank to hold on impact with the thicker materials. They could go together well in the shop but were blowing out quickly once folks got their armor.
Here is the solution - Using the same high quality imported Belgain rivet manufacturer, we have ordered a 2 piece rivet with a longer shank. This should fix this issue in future assembly. Anyone having this issue with armor they have purchased from us recently is welcome to send the item back for reriveting. I am sorry for any inconvenience we have cause you all but we will do everything we can to fix the situation. We will not charge anything for the reriveting.
Kind Regards,
Icefalcon
