Vitus,
awesome work. I have a question: is the differnce between a Pole axe and a battle axe the length? Because these look simular to me. Any pictural help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Christian

The battle axe is shorter and has no rondels or buttspike.

forgive my ignorance, but how much progressive give does the cutting edge have? i believe its supposed to have a 1/2 inch of progressive give across the surface, but it looks like it only has a 1/2 of padding on the cutting edge. just asking cause i cant put my fingers on it and squish it.

The entire striking edge is 1/2" blue foam. This allows for 1/2" of progressive give between the edge and haft. The weapon head is not constructed solely of rigid materials. It is made from leather and foam.

Here's a pic of the one I used in this past Cot30. Very nice weapon and easy to swap back and forth between single and two handed use. (if this is the style up for sale)

2nd axe...3rd Dibs...if you two decide to bow out purchasing this axe, Sir Vitus I'll definatly take it.

I have two of the one-handed versions of this axe in process now. The first two guys who pay for them via Paypal get them.
That is how it's gotta be because I gotta order epoxy NOW.
They are not finished, so there are no pics. JUST IMAGINE THE SAME AXE WITH A SHORTER HANDLE. You can handle that, right?

I lied- the last available Poitiers axe has a handle that is 36" long, so it's pretty much the same as Iain's axe.
First guy who pays gets it.

It can be cut down to any desired smaller size, obviously.

Sir Vitus,
so one has a 36" handle and the other handle is how long?

The one you bought has a short handle. I think it's 28 inches. Perfect for one-handed use. I use axe/mace and dagger in the 30 with great success.
