Okay, I had been toying with the idea, and someone else suggested it, adding a set of elbows to my new layered vambraces to make a second style of bazuband. I had thought about it by adding a set of my leather elbows, they suggested I find a supplier for either steel or aluminum elbows. So the question for all you archivers, if I do this would you prefer all leather, or mixed metal and leather?

leather elbows would, in my opinion, keep the integrity of a more early period look...

Offer both. I'd rather aluminum elbows with a leather vambrace.

Do you have a pair of elbows like the one you made for His Grace Garrick? I would love to see what they looked like with a set of those.

I have the pattern but have not made any others to this point. No one had expressed interest in any. Until now.

Well I think if I go this route it will be in a mixed fashion. I have leather elbows certainly, it will just be a matter of finding a good metal armorer who is willing to work on a barter basis for metal elbows. My finances are limited so even at whole sale prices I would not be able to order very many.

Put stonekeep's spring stainless elbows on those puppies. So I don't have to
I look at those vams and think to myself "Hey, low profile armor that i can cover up with stuff". No need to care about period/not period for me, i'm putting maille over it.

You supply the elbows and no problem.
