I just finished two 38 oz bottels. As usual, they're hand sewn from veg tanned leather with linen thread. These bottels, however, are lined inside with Envirotex. I think it's safe, but there are those who worry because it hasn't been FDA approved as "food safe" for constant contact. It HAS been approved for use on counter tops and incidental contact. These may be given a couple coats of salad bowl finish inside to allay any fears anyone might have.
