Polar Bear Forge :http://www.polarbearforge.com/lamellar.htm

I have not bought lamellar from him, but I have bought other things from him. I was a smooth transaction on all accounts.

As mentioned, Polar Bear Forge. So does Eldesar.

From what I can tell from AA reviews, both merchants are well respected.

Dont know Polar Bear (but have heard nothing but good about Jamie).

Eldesar (SyrTheo aka Eik here) is solid as a rock.

I bought SS plates from polarbear and was happy with the transaction - smooth, prompt, accommodating, and met expectations.

However...

His plates do not come de-burred, so identify someone with a tumbler nearby and know what it will cost you before you order.

The local places wanted as much as I paid for the plates to tumble them.
For that price, you can buy a small tumbler.

Fortunately, I recently discovered that I have a buddy that has a tumbler.

I would trust SyrTheo with my children.

Oh boy. That sounds mildly dangerous. Don't they make a pill for that? :D

Seriously though. I've also been looking for lammelar for my friend who's just getting into the SCA. I've looked at Polar Bear's selection. Is there contact information for the other gentleman floating around? Maybe a website?
*ETA* Nevermind. I found his site. Google is my friend :)

I do make lamellar plates, and custom ones if you're looking for a different design.

My plates don't come tumbled (though I have experimented with this to change the finish) and don't really need it. There is occasionally a small point of dross on the holes of stainless plates that wears away during use.

I've still got about 2 thousand 2X3.5 coupons and a kick press to do hole punching.
They work best in "Tombstone" profile.
