WTS SS norman/viking transitional helmet

Post by GuntherofOrkney »

I had this helmet laying around that i had made but it didnt fit the customer so i just finished it up for sale. this helmet will fit a small to medium head. (19" to max 23.5",it fits me.) its made from 14ga stainless and is a very solid helmet, the grill is mounted with acorn nuts so it can be removed any time.

I am asking $500.00 plus shipping,i would charge at $700 for this helmet if a customer ordered it.
i can get more pics of it tonight if anyone wants to see anything specific.

thanks. I forgot to mention the nasal is a 14ga stainless mounted to the brow band then the 16ga decorative nasal is riveted and welded to the bottom layer for added strength.

Ugh, if this thing is still available next month(4 weeks from today actually), I should be able to get her. Funding's kind of tight atm.

It's such a beautiful helmet I doubt it'll still be around though lol.

I am hoping it will be sold before a month from now hehe.

I can also add a stainless flat ring welded aventail to the helmet for an additional $200.00(the chain and grill would all be bolted on)

Hi Gunther.

You said 23.5 as a max head size - is that with minimum SCA padding (closed cell foam)?
and does the aventail hang from the brow line or from the base of the Helmet...

Looking to use it as war helm for fighting in Lochac, so will need to attach mesh... having that nice removable face plate is going to be perfect...

Also if I may enquire about shipping to Tasmania, Australia p/code 7008

23.5 size is with padding. that is my head size and it fits me nice with 1 layer of padding. the chain can be attached at the bottom of the brow line, along the bottom of the nasal or can be mounted to the bottom inside or outside of the helmet. would be $80 for shipping.

yeah well if something isnt really basic then people want it very specific to what they want but this helmet is rdy to ship unless they add the chain drape.

I really like this helm. If I did not have a generous offer to fix the grill on the helm I made, I would have gladly laid down the cash for this. The transitional styling is really cool, and the lines are so clean. Have you ever had problems with acorn nuts backing off from multiple impacts?

you have to add locktite to them or they will come off or just rivet the grill on.
