I have a 14g Hjalmr Spagenhelm that looks similar to this one: http://www.flickr.com/photos/21215018@N ... hotostream except I believe mine is stainless. It's built like a TANK and I picked it up for $100 about a year ago, but it's too tall for my neck. Fully the padded it's still sitting on my shoulders. :(
If you're interested I'll get some pictures and measurements for you.

Hi, yes get a Hjalmr helm if at all possible. I sell patterns for hidden plastic armor if you want to make your own for cheap. Just do a search for hidden armor patterns and youll see a thread on them.

Take care

Consider Ironmonger's munitions helm: http://ironmongerarmory.com/stock-helms ... inet-helms
These give great protection and visibility. Also, they won't rust- most starter helms look like old buckets after a few months, this won't. It is also worth mentioning that Ironmonger as fantastic customer service.
