Trying to find this stuff is a little difficult. Any suggestions on finding a local source or a good online source that will ship to canada would be really helpful.

Have you actually dealt with them? Looks dicey since it states on the front page of the website woman owned small business. Who the hell cares if a woman owns it. Seems really unprofessional to me.

I did already find a source online but best case scenario I don't have to have something shipped. And if that's not possible then I'd like to see who people have actually dealt with.

They can get "bonus points" for federal contracts, etc if they are minority/woman owned businesses some times. Maybe it means that it is 100% owned by X, and maybe they give 1% to someone so they can legally make the claim.

ISO 9001:2008 is quite a bit of work to obtain and maintain (regular audits and such). I'd assume they do a decent amount of business to justify going through the ISO processes. Couldn't tell you how they are to deal with though.

Wow really? In canada it's illegal to discriminate based on sex, race, age, sexual orientation or religion.

*rant deleted* While technicly illegal in the US to discriminate AGAINST a minority it isn't illegal to discriminate FOR a minority and if a minority is a large enough voting block to pander to politicians like to be seen setting up programs if it pulls more voters. Please research any quota based accademic acceptance system as an example.

But before this post goes political I would recomend checking out Onlinemetals.com . Their selection of 410 stainless seems limited in armor thicknesses to 12"x24" and it is incredibly expensive. They are good for brass for helms, air-hardening tool steel and similar things needed in small quantities.

I haven't checked any other sources but Admiral steel would be my first choice and anyplace that retails for carpenter steel (they are a foundry) would be my second.
The drop-zone at Yarde metal is great for smaller pieces in various thickness but I haven't seen 410 listed there before. http://www.yarde.com/catalog/drop4.html

Let me see where the shop gets theirs from.

Yes that's rant worthy. Quota systems based on any of those attributes are illegal here. Actually asking any of those questions anywhere besides a social setting is illegal.

Was thinking about these guys http://www.upmet.com/index.shtml but wanted to see who other people are using first.

I know in the past the Yard Store has 410 to purchase on site but I don't know if they would ship sheets of metal out or not. Don't know how expensive shipping to Canada would be though.

Sha-ul had some he had purchased at the Yard for sale here on the Classifieds some years back. I think it was 410 IIRC.

I don't know about this "Yard" website. I was checking out their "Browse Store" menu & came across the listing "Hole Finder (Strap Dupl)" followed immediately by "Lubricants".

I don't wanna even know...

Do they actually sell steel on the website? Can't find any mention of it.

The woman cares if a woman owns it, and that's about it. The other one I see is 'Christian-owned'.

Like I said, the Yard has everything.

Anyway, they have a lot of sheet metal drops and scrap as well as tools and aircraft surplus. I know Halberds orders stuff from there. Much to my wife's dismay I am able to spend hours looking around that place. I decided to see if you could order sheet metal over the phone and gave them a call. They said they did not have any 410 stainless right now.

Sorry for the waste of bandwidth.
