WTB mid/late 14th century gear.

Post by sulla123 »

Hey guys I am putting together a 14th century harness/s to use for some illustrations I am working on. Since I am using this for illustration I am trying to find cheaper items. I do not need items that are SCA legal. I am also pretty handy redoing thing etc so to save money I would also be happy to get items that need work. But the items do need to look somewhat correct for the period. There is a lot I can change while doing the art work. But it is nice to start as close to possible to the right shapes etc.

Some things I need.

1. Mitten Guantlets and maybe demi guantlets etc. Cheaper ones like these are fine. http://www.kultofathena.com/product.asp ... +Gauntlets

2. Grieves I want ones with some shape to them. I know I need some full plate ones but might also buy some splented ones. Again cheap ones are fine as long as the basic shape is good.

3. Knees/legs I do not have to have these but if the right deel comes along would get another set.

4. Chainmail Shirt. Of course I would love to have good set but budget dictates a cheap set.

5. Helmet aventail

6. Arming Jacket and period appropriat surcoat and or jupon etc.

7. Spaulders complete or parts.

8. Helmet basinet style helmet with or without visor pig or klap style. Cheap helmets are fine if the basic shape is ok.

9. sabatons plate complete or parts

10. Period sword and sword belt

11. Shield or sheild blank if the price is right. Was thinking about just making one.

12. Other related 14th century items

13. Breastplate

So let me know what bargains you have laying around :)

Our 9mm flat riveted steel maille is fairly inexpensive. You can see it here:

About 5'9 200 pounds or so. And depending on the gear I do not mind redoing it to make it fit better.

I have one of the lighter weight IceFalcon arming coats, but it is a 3x. Brand new, never worn.
I have one of the OLD revival gambesons, pretty heavy, and well used.
I have a mild steel globose breast plate with kidney plates. in all honesty is set up for some one about 1X but could fit some one smaller.
I have a set of single lame spaldurs, in mild steel.
and i might be able to help you out with a surcoat if you have a desing in mind.
