Looking for bladesmith: decorative sword inquiry

Hello members. I have a friend that may be interested in commissioning a custom decorative sword for his business. It does not need to be functional or pretty, quite the opposite. He's looking for something distressed, much like a movie prop. It's a pirate cutlass, but with a blade more similar to a scimitar. My original idea for him was to purchase a couple wallhangers and swap/retrofit the furniture to make it look like his design but we can't find exactly what he wants. I know there are a few different ways this could be made, I'm curious what people can offer. I don't know his budget, but I imagine it's not enough to have a "REAL" nice custom piece though I'll relay any info to him....You never know.
Here's a rough drawing of what he's looking for:

Here's the complete logo (for now he's just looking for the sword but if anyone can build the whole thing, I'll pass it along to him):

I'm just looking to get him some rough estimates as to cost & time for now so he can figure out what he wants to do.
Thanks for looking

Might be out of his price range, but here is a Jody Sampson Martian longsword on SFI - looks dead on to me

You might want to try listing this on My Armoury. I think there is alot more people that do custom work over there.

Kendrick,
There is simply no way a Bladesmith isn't going to charge an arm and a leg for what he wants.
My suggestion is to start with this
http://budk.com/Swords/Cas-Hanwei-ScimitarIts the only one readily available that isn't a stainless blade, thus allowing for it to be distressed and modified with some power tools.
Here's a cheap steel saber guard
http://www.amazon.com/Sabre-Guard-Practice/dp/B0006B4K2CIt will need modification to work but should get him close.
If he purchased those items and dropped them in my lap, I'd still charge him around $500.

Awesome! Thanks Patternweld. We've found a sword which has the perfect blade shape but not the guard. This one is perfect! I'll pass the link on to him. Thanks again.

MAke it from wood and give it a proper paint job. Will work well for the logo of that nature.

I think his mind is set on a metal sword but I'll certainly pass that on to him. Thanks!
