FS Merctailor Steel Buckler and Espauliers

Post by AL »

I have for sale to cover the car repair, one 11 inch steel buckler and pair of espauliers like we used to sell.

The buckler is made from 16 gauge steel with an outwardly rolled edge, hammered and planished boss with hand stiched natural wool felt and cotten batting boss pad, and forged handle made from 1/2 inch square stock with 3/4 twist for better grip. Like to get $65 ( we used to sell these for a good bit more ) plus shipping.

Espauliers, these are the simple espauliers we used to sell, made from 16 gauge steel with an outwardly turned edge on the bottom lame and beveled edges on the others. Includes eyelets at the top for pointing and hand made buckles and steel mounts with light decorative file and chiselwork. I can, if desired add buckles at the top for attaching to a gorget. I'd like to get $35.00 plus shipping ( $10 less than we used to sell these for ).

Feel free to ask any questions. Paypal, check or money order okay. If check or money order i'd ask that you be as expedient in posting out as you can manage as i'm still trying to get the cost of fixing my cruddy car fixed together.

Hey Alan, I'm in for the espauliers if they're still available.

Isn't it ironic.

Al is one of the most skilled and knowledgeable armorers out there, and now that he closed his shop, we are all running to get his stuff. My very first harness was from Al (now in an better home than mine as I change periods)

I hope we can try to give him business to allow him justifying making some armor on the side from time to time, so his skill and knowledge are not completely lost.

Keeping the demand ahead of the supply. Doesn't that business model work for Harley Davidson?
