Polling for interest for rivit bosses.

Post by Mad Matt »

Ok well I'm planning to make a bunch of rivit bosses in the near future and have some as an in-stock item.

My question is would anyone be interested in them. The price isn't set yet but I'm guessing right now that they'll be somewhere between $5-10 each.

And in case you're wondering what the heck rivit bosses are. It's the name I've given to the little shield boss like things that go over the 4 rivits that hold a double leather type handle for a centre grip shield.

If anyone's got a more correct term for them lemme know.

Oh yeah I can also do pointy ones for a little more money. What kind of interest would there be in those. IIRC they're gonna be about 2-2.5" total diameter and basically look like a miniature shield boss with a crisp line where the flange meets the dished area. So they could very well be used as decorative studs for leather armour as well.

I am interested in the abstract, dependent wholly on price per item.
I could find a hundred uses for them.
But if they are $15.00/piece, my use, of economic necessity, would be small.

I might be interested, depending upon the details. I need them for a Turkish/Polish kalkan I'm working on. I'll try to get some pictures scanned so we can see if we're thinking of the same sort of thing. Bronze or brass would work for my purpose and cost would determine how many I'd buy. 4 to 6 would be about right
