I also ordered some clamshell and demi gauntlets (stainless steel) from Sablehold. On the Freidman scale:
Price 5/5: Practically a steal for the quality. I won't state any numbers since Sablehold was nice enough to offer a "Beta Test" discount since he was still perfecting the pattern for a "small" size glove.
Communication 5/5: We had plenty of conversations online regarding the gauntlets/fit/how happy my lady was with the outcome. When the first pair of gauntlets showed up and fit a large glove it was really easy to send them back and get the appropriate replacement. Of course, now I'm a little jealous and wish the larger pair had stuck around for me to play with, d'oh =).
Delivery and Shipping 5/5: Prompt, no hassles, and when returns were required due to receiving the wrong size it was pleasant and, perhaps most importantly, comped!
Craftsmanship 5/5: Great stuff. Articulates well, grounds more than sufficiently, and they are pretty rock solid. As I mentioned above, I think I might be pestering Sablehold for my own pair. Also, a hand-drawn diagram of strapping suggestions was included in the box. Those were pretty spiffy too, hehe.
Of course, the fun part: pictures! These were taken before hole drilling/strapping.
