As a part of my day-job I do some CADD work. So I'm capable of converting armour patterns into many different CADD formats.

Why would you want this? Well if you've got armour patterns in CADD format you can take them to get laser cut etc.

Or you can use em for having dies built for things like lamelar plates.

I'm not offering to do it for free here but I'm happy to work out some kind of a barter or cash etc. deal.

If anyone's interested lemme know and we can work something out.

Me too. I'll also do the work if Matt won't for whatever reason. I'm not saying that I will do it for free either, just what Matt would charge, if he is all "full" up for the day or whatever. Not trying to undercut you matt, just trying to fund college.

Matt, my biggest interest would be in "grading" the patterns, i.e. scaling them up and down to fit larger/smaller people... would you be able to help with that?

Jean Paul: I generally don't use CADD patterns. They're really only necessary for a fairly high volume piece to be cut with a laser etc.

Anyway I can size raster (JPG etc.) patterns on the computer also.

And it's more specific then just using the percent blow-up or down with a photocopier.

Basically I take the pattern piece lets say it's a vambrace.

Bring it into Photoshop and make sure the image is cropped so the edges of the pattern piece hit the edges of the image on all 4 sides.

Also the piece needs to be straight on the image.

Now resize the image length and width. So if your vambrace pattern is going horizontally and you've got an 8" long forearm that's 6" around (not actual numbers) then you set the image to 8" width and 6" height and then print it out.

Kinda handier for me since I can print stuff as big as 3'X300' but you get the idea.

Actually, though we still have to figure out the fabric thing... in the future, if I can get access to the relevant armouries (actually, I already can, it's just affording the trip), I will certainly throw you some cadd work for the pieces I measure out.
