Tulwar and Three Magyar Sabres for sale.

Post by Russ Mitchell »

Ladies and Gentlemen, due to financial strain, I am forced to sell weapons from my collection.

The first is a 19th century Tulwar, damascened, with gilged koftigari. $350.

The issue sabres for sale are a 19th century Cavalry and Infantry Officer's weapons. $500 each.

The last sabre is a beautiful 18th-century Hungarian weapon with a Polish hilt. Since all of these three are Hungarian, I"m calling this one "Prize Sabre" to distinguish it. $1000.

Buyer pays for shipping. The price on the prize sabre is firm: the other two are negotiable if more than one is purchased. First crack goes to swordforum and armour archive members, and, if they don't sell, then they'll wind up out on ebay. Pictures and a basic description can be found here:

(Please respond to me at russnanna@yahoo.com with any questions, NOT via the email found on Dr. Menard's home page.)

On a side note, I have a digital camera, and am willing to try to get some closer-up images if desired. Because the tulwar is damascened, but I couldn't manage to capture the pattern on film (the blade is not etched), I will be happy to hold a check on that weapon, and not deposit it unless the customer is satisfied with the weapon, as I am aware that this has been used to try to justify some very shady ebay offerings in the past.

Thanks.
