Ebay--Coat of Plates
Dude. I bid heavily on that under Ramyo@idt.com. Something weird went on during that auction though. I don't think my last bid went through. The end price was lower than my max bid, by about 22 dollars.
When I was outbid...with ten minutes to spare...I upped my bid to $175!
I wanted that CoP pretty badly.
Epescially after you sent my the enlarged photograph of it. Very nice work.
Oh well, I got another one, but I think yours would have fit me better than this one will.

Well it is the nature of how eBay works that an honest bidder may appear like a sniper, when he is simply the highest bidder.
Personally I favor the method of bidding slightly below the max of what I think and item is worth and then not becoming further emotionally involved with the auction. This way if someone beats your bid, then it is because he values the itme more than you, and there is no reason to bid higher than you originally did becuase then you don't get a good deal. But competition does strange things to people, and nothing draws a crowd like a crowd.
The thing is the guy could have bid forty or fifty dollars above me and it still would only look like he had bid a dollar or two above me...simply by virtue of how eBay proxy bids...but this doesn't automatically make the other bidder a prick.
