Actually, they are very common on south german/Italian infantry helms. They were more popular than brimmed helmets, due to the use of crossbows, which have a flatter trajectory, whereas brimmed helms seen in Burgundy, France and England were ideal for the arcing fire of normal bows.

At least, thats what I read. It sounds plausable.

Looks great, unfort, all thats running thru my head is, " Help me Obi-Wan, your my only hope."

But does look really good.

Shall we say.With roundels the corner of peripheral view becomes smaller. But it creates a sense of security from the side of pikemen attack for example.

This is exactly what I wanted to do.
These helmets have a lot of graphic sources on that time.

I have other potential outlays of cash that have to come first.
