Ice,

All these options include flat, punched, solid, alternating rows, correct? Even the round ring maile will have solid flat rings alternating. Not sure how that would impact the performance and comfort, I have no experience with that kind of maile. Just wondering if that's a factor.

Yes, all of these can be ordered with the flat alternating solid links.

Those were half 6mm round ring with pin rivets and half solid rings, correct?

Tom

That will be fine as long as we get enough orders for them. I will get a price and put the link up when I get the sample back.

Having my own 9mm mail, and having handled the prototype for these sleeves ... it is quite the difference. After seeing the 6mm sleeve, I was sad to look at my own 9mm mail.

Sample should be back in my hands this week. If so, I will bring to Pennsic for folks to inspect and then we can start the order.

Sample came in and it is at Pennsic along with the original made by Mac. I had Mac check it out and he thinks they got it right. For those of you who are at Pennsic, stop by and check it out. I do not have a camera but feel free to bring one and post pics of them both. The next step is ordering. I need enough orders for this to be worth all of the money that has gone into this so far. Mac has to get paid for his time as well and I will be bearing the brunt of that as well.

I understand that most of you want 6mm round ring with alternating solid rings. We CAN get these in any of the maille types that I carry. The tailored sleeve will be $75 more than the standard sleeve.

So who wants to order?

Only $75 more is a great deal. If I could get my 9mm SS voiders fixed and sold, I'd be in .. but I can't afford to do so until I sell something.

Mac says the sleeves are not perfect after he saw them on someone. I am going to give this project up as I have spent enough money on it and there just does not seem to be enough interest. Chalk this one up to experience.

That is too bad. I thought we had enough interest. Hopefully someone will be interested in picking up the torch. I was ready to spend money on a pair.

Out of curiosity- How many others are serious about purchasing these? Post up, please.

Oh no! What's the issue with the sleeves? I'd be surprised if they are somehow worse than the standard tubes. Still not worth going into production, even if it needs a little tweaking after receiving? :(

They are not worse than the normal sleeves but are not perfect in Mac's eyes. I have yet to get s single order, so I figured that this was a dead horse in which I have invested a lot of money and time into.

If you want the sleeves, order them on my site and mention that you want the new sleeve pattern. I will let you know how many I have and when I have enough to order. So far I have ZERO orders for them. The ball is in your collective court. :)

Wow. Zero orders? I didn't imagine they'd be that slow to take off. I went back towards the end of war with a fighting tunic on that I didn't mind getting half oily, but the guy in the booth didn't know where they were to try on. Do you have suggestions on the sizing for these?

Was Mac's complaint about the fit on a particular individual or on the tailoring for general use?

Best regards,
Jacob

The underarm is fitted but he thinks that the biceps are too full.

OK guys I just confirmed several items with Ice.

1. These sleeves can be ordered in any of the styles of rings he offers, the cost is just +$75 over the standard sleeve pattern.
2. To place your order just go to Ice's mail page. Just add the standard sleeve pattern in desired the ring style and size to your cart, then in the comments / notes for the order make sure to say that you want the "New Tailored +$75 sleeve".
3. This is a pre-order so you will be charged 50% now and 50% when ready for delivery.

I will be sending PM to all of those who expressed interest.
Guys this is our chance to show that the extra effort to make a superior product is worth while.

Thanks,
Tom

P.S. - It is my understanding that while these are not perfect they are still a much better shaped sleeve than the standard pattern.

So is it $395 + $75 or $495 + $75? Which of the sleeve options would we be getting, with or w/out the partial chest?

I assume you are looking at the 6mm round ring pin rivet selection.

Current 6mm round ring pin rivet sleeves are priced at :
CH6-021 med/large = $395
CH6-001 XL /XXL =$495
Both of these have the partial chest the difference between the two is size.

So to get the med/large 6mm round ring pin rivet in the "New Tailored +$75 sleeve" order the first one above and include the "New Tailored +$75 sleeve" note. Price = $395+$75 = $470
So to get the XL/XXL 6mm round ring pin rivet in the "New Tailored +$75 sleeve" order the second one above and include the "New Tailored +$75 sleeve" note. Price = $495+$75 = $570

I am still planning to get a set, but can't do so yet... I need to sell a few things first, and Days of Knights is hanging on the near horizon which will be another expense to account for.

I am still very interested, and even if they didn't turn out "perfect" ... it's far better than tubes!

There were not enought pre-orders for Andre to make the order.
