ISO Japanese helmet

Post by Toramassa »

So after I was literally knocked out of the last Crown tourney I fought in, it was deemed that I needed a new helm. So I am looking for someone willing to either sell a Japanese helm/willing to take a commission/who knows someone I could contact for a the same.
Ideally the helmet will:
Keep me from getting concussed
I have been using a Stainless padded mask with the old helm and I would like to be able to continue using that.
Will be appropriate for a 16th century Mid-ranked Samaurai
Will be under $1,000

I've never bought one, but I do know that Clang carries several. I'd talk to him.

Not familiar enough with nipponese armor to know time periods. These are the two he has listed on his site. Think he has a few more on his Facebook.

Is Clang actually still making these? There are several on the Tousando board who have been advised he is not, but he is sharing the pattern with them.

His website does say he isn't accepting custom orders (didn't notice that till just now) but I'd ask him personally. When I bought something from his, he was pretty quick about answering.

Yeah, I just emailed CLANG last week about a helm project and he said he's pretty full and it would likely be the spring before he could get to anything new.
