FS: Rattan Katana/Wakasashi set *SOLD*

Post by Thomas MacFinn »

38" rattan katana with a 8.5" grip.
31" rattan wakasashi with a 6.5" grip
Edit: $100 for the set, including shipping

Both blades:
are carved from 1.5" rattan,
are slightly curved (the katana more than the wakasashi),
have a distal taper from 1.5" down to 1.25" (but no linear taper),
have modified Clang tsubas (with a steel tab instead of a clamp),
have taped blades, thrusting tips and finished handles (although the wrapping is white sandpaper and red shoelaces, not rayskin and silk).

I cannot find a decent kashira that I like, so the ends are finished with hockey tape.

Here's an older and sharper picture I have lying around of the tsubas.

The price includes shipping in the US. I still haven't found a decent kashira that I like.

Clang. They normally come with big ugly clamps on them, but he made me a pair special.

Since $150 and $120 didn't work, lets try $100 including U.S. shipping. I really want to get these out of here before Christmas.

Thomas,

I told you that you could take your time sending them, but noooo, you had to ship them
right away so that I received them today. :-)

Thank you. As you may have gathered, the swords arrived today. They look very nice.
I'll need to break them in soon. Happy happy joy joy. Maybe I should break out all that
old samurai armour that I got from my friend....

Thanks,

Thorvald (at present a confused viking)
