a check on this sword

Post by merc »

Ok guys a friend of mine bought this for me, can anyone tell me anything about it? It looks good, for a parade sword, but has anyone seen anything similar?

Oddly enough I have that very sword. Bought pre internaet and for a great deal more. The pommel is threaded onto the tang which is roughly pencil sized and shaped right up to the shoulders of the blade. The blade itself is springy and thin, giving it similar consistency to a fencing foil. Your milage may very, but I would certainly not hit anything with mine. The blad would seperate fromt he hilt with a very small 'ping' sound. That being said it looks smahing on the wall over my entertainment center and everyone seems very impressed by it. They find the Del Tins I have drab and utilitarian by comparison. Everyone wants to handle the wall hanger rather than the broadswords - go figure.

I know I know, but I didn't buy it for combat (luckly I knew better). Would it hold up to wear and tear as a costume piece?

Sure, its a fairly impressive piece for the spectators. Great for use as a ceremonial sword, or just to look mighty with.
Enjoy
