Dear Sirs:
I read a post a few weeks back about someone who had or was going to get some of the Lord of the Rings Swords that are made in China, or as they are know the "fake" or unlicenced swords. Does anyone out there own any of them?
If so are they nice looking?
Where I can get them at a fair price?
Thank you all for your time
-John

Well.. I was the one who was asking about them.

The general concensus (sp?) was.. Go for the real ones from United Cutlery. Although it depends on what you want them for.

For me they are going to be prominantly displayed in my living room. Well lit and it will probobly be one of the first things you see if you walk in the front door. (I've been reading the books for almost 20 years. Gone through quite a few copies. After fellowship came out and my wife saw the movie she loved them to so when I asked her if I could do this her response was "when can you get them", god I love my wife.

For me a friend of mine owns his own business in San Francisco and can get them for me wholesale. When I was looking I found that on e-bay you can find the real ones for roughly $150-$180 per sword (sting is about $100). This seams to be about the best price I've found for the real ones.

If you want the fake ones the ones made in China look ok.. Stay away from the Pakistani replicas though.

Also if you want Sting go for the real one.. None of the Sting replicas I saw looked any good.
