Jeff Hedgecock had some fantastic 14th century carbon steel stuff that might fit you.

Yeah Historic Enterprises makes some damn fine looking armour. The 14th century legs are quite a good representation of Churburg #53's, which is much like I am trying to get done.

Has anyone seen HE armour on the field lately? I know that it looks great for re-enactment, but does it hold up to SCA combat? Oh, Dmitriy, are these for SCA use?

Spring steel (1050) is hella dent resistant.

From his site:

Mild Steel - 16 ga. (1.5mm) cops, other parts (cannons and lames) are 18 ga. (1mm).

Spring Steel (1050) - Medium size, see measurements above .045" cops, .035" cannons, .025" lames.

These are for SCA, and while I would love to own some of Mr Hedgecock's armour, it's way out of my price range at the moment.

Evil-

Spring steel is if heat treated right. Too much and it becomes very brittle (seen it) not enough and it will dent just like everything else. I'm curious about actual field wear, that's all.

For the price, Ice Falcon really seems to be a good deal.

I got some mild munitions legs from Ice Falcon. For munitions harness they work very well. They look ok and I got them FAST, which is what I needed at the time. I think the legs and front greeves ran me about $250. I think I saw some James River Armoury legs on E-bay.

Good Luck,
