.047 wire diamiter or 18 gauge SWG 1.2mm wire.

I use it for chainmail, wire projects like viking wire knit and such.

This is the same alloy The ring lord sells as bright aluminum it stays fairly clean and requires very little polish for most people.

skin oils, sunscrean and pennsic grim still build up over time but simple soap, water, and a nylon brush are often enough unless you have some odd body chemistry going on.
The dish washer will etch the aluminum over time and in general is not a good idea for any aluminum mail.
