I need either used or new sabatons and various pieces of horse armor. I have a new horse to arm.

I think horses look really funny wearing sabatons!

I have a Czech-made chamfron that's quite primo, sized for a really big horse:

Hal, about what shoe size are the pointed toe sabatons? Do they have a steel backplate or leather like the round toe ones?

I recommend
CLANG for the sabatons.
I had him make me some sollerets that turned out fantastic. I hear he lost some of his hair during their construction though.
I think he has a picture of them on his website.
Yep...here it is:

Hell, I don't need anything that fancy, just something to conceal my combat boots (thank you Uncle Sugar for the busted ankles). What was the askin' price? Off line response works if you don't feel comfortable with public .... then again, I wouldn't go down any dark alley with those pretty lil' things either! ;^)

Sizes are S, M, L, XL - the round-toe ones pictured and liked above are size L, and they fit over my size 12 boots. We have a "how we do sizing" document that's still in second-draft format - I'll make it available online as soon as it's in viewable condition.
Both the round-toes and pointy-toes are available with steel plates on the back hinge leather - we put three plates on the leather, this works better for munitions-grade armor rather than trying to fit one solid heelplate - a solid heel would pretty much take custom fitting to a particular size and boot, and we're not ready to take that plunge yet ...

How early, timeline-wise, were sabatons such as these worn?
