Folks,

For a medieval medical display on wounds and their treatment, I'm looking for a single arrow and a variety of medieval arrowheads, reproductions. The trick is I only need one of each, not multiples as most of these items are sold in. If you have some one-offs you can part with, or are willing to make single items for a reasonable cost, please email or PM.

You might take a look at "White Co. castings" from "early war miniatures". (Paul Thompson) I've never bought his arrow heads but I have bought plenty of other things form him. Always had good experiences.

He is in the UK but Hector Cole is widely regarded to be one of the best arrow head makers there is and can make wonderful repro's of any type of known arrow head plus a few that haven't really made it into,publication yet. He'll make one offs no problems.

But it might be a possible alternative.

Buy some old arrow heads instead. I bet that they are all over the web at various prices. I have sold most of the duplicates that I didn't need, but I do have a few left. They are mostly tanged with leaf/diamond blades. I do seem to have one crossbow bolt head left and a few other types. They vary between $10 each and $40 for the crossbow bolt head. They are excavated, so a little rough. The diamond/leaf ones are similar to these:

I wanted to respond to this earlier, but I was out of town and away from my computer.
I'd strongly suggest you try and pick-up some points/piles from Wade Allen (poster above). He has some actual field finds. You used to be able to grab stuff like that on ebay, but the prices were crazy inflated, and now all of those "real" arrow heads are just eastern made replicas that someone has dunked in vinegar and burried in their yard for a few months.

You also should look at Historic Enterprises under their ARCHERY section. They have a few very nice replica heads. I have 3 of their heads which are very fine.

Hector Cole, does make perhaps the finest looking replicas of medieval finds. He studdied the London Museum originals methodically and has made so many hundreds if not thousands of replica heads, that he has truely replicated them faithfully. But you are paying a price for that level of detail. The nice add-on with Hector Cole is that (and I'm not 100% sure he still does this), if you order a dozen heads, he would throw in 1 extra which he has crafted from a piece of medieval metal. I'm not sure where he gets the metal. I'd hope it was some slag found near a forge, or a chunk of some unidentifiable nothing, and that he's not chopping up 14th century horseshoes. But he includes a "certificate of authenticity" with it. Basically a hand written note that the one piece is made from a piece of actual certified pice of medieval iron no younger than 400 years old.

Attached here is a photo of 3 in my collection: The two left most are Hector cole replica war bodkins. The one in the middle is the one forged from 14th cen iron. The right most one is a triangle shaped headed field find, I purchased from Wade Allen.

Here are some pictures of the ones I have for sale at the moment.
Most of these came from a large lot I got from an auction house in England several years ago. Attributed as from the site of a 14th c. battlefield in eastern Germany. No more details. There were lots of different styles.

All of the ones on the second page are $20 each.
The other page has more variety. Upper left - $30, crossbow bolt head at the lower bottom - $40, spear head $50, the little ones on the right $10 each.
