Kaowool - on Amazon

A quick google search will hit ya with a bunch of pottery supply places (typically used to line kilns).

Thanks. Considerably better prices than I was finding on ebay.

Make sure you get a suitable type for your purpose, which I'd guess is a forge? It comes in several densities, thicknesses, and temp ratings. What's generally recommended for a forge is 8# density, 2400 or 2600 F rating (or the highest you can reasonably get). For most applications, you'll want 2" of thickness, but it's often preferable to use 2 layers of 1" stuff.

I have most of a roll of forge-suitable stuff, and won't need all of it for the projects that I bought it for. If you're interested in buying a portion of it, email me.

Its for the contraption I use for melting brass. Basically a firebrick cube with a weed burner as the heat source. It melts brass but takes hours. I am hoping to make it more efficient by containing the heat better.

How much do you need, and how many people do you know willing to go in on roll?
Arrow springs .com has rolls at $150 for 2'x25'
The supper ceramic blanket is about twice that.
