Hi Ogiers,

This is not meant as a slam, but as constructive criticism.

Your web site does not strike me as a particularly useful storefront for a commercial venture.

It looks like you have put more effort into bells and whistles than doing what a storefront is supposed to do, namely entice and allow customers to buy things. I see weather forecasts (for someplace I don't even know the location of), "polls" that I have to register for (annoying), and message forums, but nothing that makes me, as a potential customer, consider buying anything from you.

I can't find any pictures of your work, except for a tiny thumbnail of some helmet which I assume is something you made? That, and some pictures of some historical gauntlets which you hope to make some day.

I applaud your policy of accepting no payment until the commission is complete. However, before I consider buying anything online from any armourer I expect to see an extensive portfolio of the armourer's past work, so that I can judge his talent and workmanship. Or, I expect to see pictures of exact items (or styles of items) available for sale.

In summary, your site needs a lot of work before it constitutes a "storefront". I would recommend you take a look at several other commercial armoury web sites to get some ideas.

Points well made and all taken. You are very right that this isn't a great storefront yet. I am waiting on the server company to get a couple of things in place so I can put up a photo gallery of my work. This should happen soon.

Ogiers.org is meant to be much more than just a storefront. I will be adding pictures, articles, and howto's to it as time goes on. However, as it is only me who is running the Armoury and the website, it all takes time and frankly, my customers come first.

Please don't shy away from the site yet, there is more to come and I hope that there will be something for everyone as time goes on.
