After seeing the interest here, I have started to draft up some molds for something like this. Hopefully I'll have something to show in a few weeks or as soon as my furnace is finished. Its been a while since I've done any casting.

Just for your information, I was jabbing at the creator of this buckle set. Mr Finkas himself--Studbuckle. You might want to consult with him as a professional courtesy before going into production of this buckle line. Just thought I would tell you so that toes don't get stepped on. I created that buckle set from the Trumpington effigy and used to offer it as part of the product line of my part-time business, Historical Stud & Buckle Company. However, as it was configured, the buckle and chape pieces proved too problematic in production and required to much hand-finishing to make it meet my standards for presentation and quality.

Most of the problem was due to the way the foundry made the molds. This was always frustrating to me because they were supposed to be the experts and make the mold in the way that yielded the best castings with the least problems. Instead, they were careless and molded the piece in a way that was prone to blemishes, distortions, and other challenges to the finishing process. My modest profit margin on these pieces was being eaten away by my own labor costs in "re-finishing" the pieces. So, I decided to pull the set from production and "retire" the buckle and chape.

At the moment, I do not have plans to resurrect that exact buckle at , but the eyelet mounts will be offered again so I'd appreciate it if you did not copy them.

The next buckle to replace the Trumpington set has already been sculpted. It is a "B" shaped buckle. I can't remember whose effigy I based it on right now. I have no forcast as to when it will be available.

MORE POINTED-D 0.75" BUCKLES?
Yes, I plan to offer that very popular armoring buckle again soon--I have already sold 500+ of the little critters and folks seem to love them. But the most important reason is that I just bought a pair of riding boots from Revival Leather and while the boots are great, I despise the pewter buckle they come equipped with (I broke one trying on the boots at Pennsic!).

So look for the Pointed D's again soon. I'll try to get a couple hundred or so in stock in the next month or so.

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear. It is not my intention to copy anyone's work directly. I meant I would be designing something similar based of some period sources. I had already started researching period buckles and after seeing some demand with little supply, I thought about trying to make something in the same spirt as this beautiful set. I never think it is right to directly copy another person's work, even if its easier to just make molds from their designs. Sorry for not being clear or for stepping on anyones toes.
