If you're short of cash, get some plastic barrels from the local carwash and use them as plates in a Brig. Then you just have the expence of the canvas (or leather) and some roofing nails / burs.
You can make vambraces, cuisses, gorget and greaves with them.
As long as you hide the plastic it will be functional, attractive and inexpensive.
If your local DoT is amicable, pick up some old retired street signs (don't take the ones still in service) and make a CoP. The vambraces, cuisses, gorget and greaves will be tougher to make with AL unless you have access to a roller.
Good luck.

I sadly have no armour laying about. However, I will offer you two reputable suppliers that offer very low priced items.
http://www.stonekeeparmory.com
&
http://www.ashcraftbaker.com
While this does not directly respond to your inquiry I do hope it helps.
Also, If you have a few tools and a wee bit of desire to create there are many wonderful patterns that can be found here on the archive.
Good Luck and welcome to the madness!!

I got a bunch of armour bits but you will need to do alot of work on it. In my oppinion if you really want what I got you might just want to start from scratch and make it better then it is

hehe

Just as a suggestion, your physical size might be a good thing to put in here.. most of the armor any of us might have lying around was, well, built for us.
I'm 6'3 and about 160 lbs when my last suit was made.. that would not come even close to fitting a 5'8 300 lb dude...
So.. what are you built like?

Also, where are you?
A local guy/group might be willing to help outfit you, but someone across the country (or ocean for that matter) might find it more difficult.
THANKS!!

I have a pair of stainless steel and black leather arms that don't articulate perfectly (they need adjustment) but have never been worn that I'd sell for $40 plus shipping.
Best,
Karl

Where are you?
Are you willing to build your own if someone shows you how?
---edit
If his email is his zip code - he is in Grand Rapids, MN. Maybe some Northshield guy can take him under the wing ....

The only armor I have just laying around doesn't work. At all.
Definately look at making your own, as it will be able to be tailored to fit you correctly.
