gentle looking for a salt shaker

Hello All

I was approached by an indivdual for a salt shaker.
I deploy friday. His info follows for anyone who would like the commision.

Garrett

Dear Sir,

I am looking for a helm that would be appropriate to use with the persona of
a Teutonic Knight, circa 1205 A.D. As I am somewhat new to the world of
armour, I may have the terminology wrong, but I believe that the helm that I
have in mind is called a "pot helm". I've attached three photos illustrating
the kind of helm that I'd like. The head is protected, but not enclosed, and
there is a face plate in the front. I know that it was in use in the late
1100's, and am sure that it was still in use in 1205. The barrel helm seems
to have come into use 30 or 40 years after this.

One photo shows a helm with elaborate brass trim on the front of it. I am
not seeking a reproduction of this elaborate brass decoration, though a
cross with one bar up the face of the helm and one across the ocularium (as
on your great helm) would be nice. The cross could have simple, flared ends,
and it could be made of steel (if less expensive than brass) as I intend to
paint the helm white and the cross black. The second photo shows a drawing
of a knight, circa 1190, wearing a similar helm. His helm apparently has a
liner and chin strap. The strap is a "Y" strap, as evidenced by the drawing.
Are you able to also supply a leather liner and a "Y" strap? A third photo
shows a re-enactor holding a painted blue and white helm, also of this
style.

I've seen different styles of "breaths" on these helms. Some are simply
round holes. Others are holes connected by slots. Still others are just
slots. Can you make any of these?

This helm would be used in live combat, staged combat, etc., but not in SCA
combat.

Finally, a time frame for production and a rough estimate of the cost would
be appreciated.

Many thanks!
