I have 5 handforged bodkin points for sale. I am asking 30 shipped for them. These are totally hand forged and not, made in India.

i know someone that will definetly want these. but he will also want to know if you made them yerself, and if you say yes he will wonder "HOW DO YOU MAKE THOSE!?!?!" as he has been having a considerable amount of trouble with making arrow heads.

What are they made *from*? Modern steel or wrought iron? If it's modern is it high or low carbon and if high carbon have they been heat treated?

Would period bodkins be from wrought or very low C?

Either way, anyone out there ever do a tutorial?

Wrought iron all the way, David Starley (sp) from the Royal Armouries did a paper on arrowheads at the 37 ICMS, you might see if it was published yet.

Let me joing the pic list... also, if you're a decent arrowsmith, I'm thoroughly in the market, if you want more work. I've got one smith on a commission, but he's fixing his house up after floods, and I need them for my research. Wrought iron preferred, but my testing method will allow for material variations.
