Ansteorran's- I need your help....

I had a member of your Kingdom bounce a check for $1100 dollars at Estrella War. I usually do not take checks but he was shopping with the King at the time, so I thought it might be a safe bet.
I have called this person several times and I have emailed him as well. He will not answer my emails of phone calls. I will be happy to take payments on the armor he bought from me if he would only return my communications.
The gentle's name is Matt Ciampi. He lives in Austin
Texas. Can anyone contact him and have him get in touch with me, please?
Thank you in advance for any help that you might lend.

I have posted a question to the Austin SCA group's e-mail list.
Update: I received a reply from Matt and I have asked him to contact you.

Well, you all came through for me. He has contacted me and I will try to work out a payment plan that works for him.
Thank you all. I will keep you posted as to the results.

Well, here it is the 3rd week in April and this issue is still not solved. I was told by this gentle that he would make payments of $250 every 2 weeks starting last week and I have yet to recieve anything in the mail from him yet. He will not return my phone calls or emails, either....
This is very frustrating. I do not want to resort to having to take a trip to Austin, but it would be worth it for me to get my $1100 back.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

small claims court?
I'm not sure what the "legal limit" on passing a bad check is at which point it becomes a felony.. you might want to check on that too...

Is anyone in the austin area in contact with this individual? I don't know him by his mundane name. Since he's not coming up with the money, I wonder if he's active or not. Perhaps at this point he's amenable to just returning the armour. Not the best solution, but the loss for that would be no worse than you flying to Texas, Andre. Just a thought.

Well if you have his phone number, you can find his physical address..Once you manage that call the local PD and they can get him.. Or they can atleast make a "social" call...
If you find out he is near Abilene, Texas..Let me know and I'll ask some relatives to make a "social" call

I have not seen him at practice since Gulf War. I only recall seeing him in armour once previously. My only contact with him would be by phone or e-mail, which you already have. Send me a PM if there is anything I can do to help.

He was also contacted by a local member of the Chivalry when I posted this to the Chiv list in March. I have posted the updates. Perhaps the same Member of the Chiv will be able to contact him again and see what the story is.
