Review - Armour & Castings helm

Post by Mike Garrett (Orc) »

What can I say!!??
Absolutely excellent. I couldn't be more pleased.
Beathans communication was total throughout the business. Very helpful and very polite. I wanted the 12th century Slavic, but I wanted it blacked - so they added the option to the helm on the site. Ordered and paid for 12th/13th March. Arrived this morning.
The helm is superb. Extremely good construction 14 guage mild. Comes padded and strapped! Fits well, a tad snug - but I put that down to newness of padding - better a little snug that rattling around in it. Looks brilliant on - can't wait to put it on with a mail hauberk (later!). Personally I'd feel well safe in this doing full contact steel, if the occasion arose. Better than I was hoping, better than the website pics. I am REALLY happy with this. Total cost (including shipping) £100 or $187 (should have been $190 but the exchange rate at Western Union stimmied me. Beathan was kind enough to waive the couple of bucks missing, so that I didn't have to pay WU another fee to send the rest! Thanks) The only thing I wish about A&C is that they took Paypal (but I don't know wether they can use it in the Ukraine!)
Once again, thank you Beathan and Armour & Castings. I'll be back!

AandC is awsome! :)

And no they can not use paypal in the Ukraine. Beathan uses another company like paypal, Ikobo. We have used it in the past and it seems to work well.

The helm looks nice. I say that it was a good buy.

(on Pennsic) I know that movie. It is the 13th warrior. A bunch of guys in armour that doesn't match itself or anybody elses, go on a trip and argue and get drunk and get laid and then fight Tuchux.

Yah, I love the bazubands he made me too. Thanks Ratty! Now I'm getting told it might be 2 to 3 more months before I can pad up and use them. :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x
But the work this cat did was awesome! I love them. Beautiful helmet!

hounskull

Post by Sir Victor »

What do ya'll think of their hounskull bascinet? (pig face helmet)

Should a pigface visor have the holes near the mouth?

I am thinking of putting together a nice 14th century kit, and the pigface would be the start.

Comments on the helmet?

It's a nice looking helm, Sir Victor.
Don't know if the holes should be there or not but I'm sure Beathan will make any adjustments you require - very helpful like that!
