lance bases for SCA jousting
I have been working with a local woodturner on some tapered lances and when I noticed this post (http://forums.armourarchive.org/phpBB2/ ... hp?t=44708) about jousting in the SCA being approved. I thought I would see about getting some Ash lances bases made to the detailed SCA specs. I am wondering if there would be any interest in these in for around $50.00 a piece plus shipping. I can send a .pdf format dimensioned drawing for anyone interested.

Watching my Wife and Daughter skate or my daughter throw the discus is a 1000 times more satisfying than winning any joust....

Follow this link for the specs I based my pieces on:

I haven't seen it on the SCA website yet and I haven't "jumped the gun" and gotten any made yet. All my friends around here use closet dowel rods and there isn't a whole lot of SCA equestrian activity within a reasonable driving range. I just figured I would see if there is interest since I was already talking to a proffessional woodturner.
Personally I think the boffer jousting sounds like fun and a great introduction to the sport for people unsure of whether they can handle the risks or the expense of the harder hitting jousting forms out there. It definitely sounds like a step up from ring jousting. The only thing I really don't like about the SCA rule is they allow plastic, leather and aluminum armor, the clang and weight of steel is such a huge factor in jousting.
For IJA style 8ft tapered lances I should be able to get them for $200 each and little less in quantity. As far as shipping 8ft lances to Wisconsin I have no idea.
