My Armor and Castings Houndskull Bascinet with an interchange grill visor was waiting for me when I got home from the Ansteorran Coronation, late this evening. I will post pictures and more details after show it to our Kingdom Earl Marshall, but for tonight, I would just like to say that I am delighted with my new helm. With a quick look over and trial wearing, it is almost compleately SCA legal as received. The only tweak will be to revise the chin strap to take a frontal impact. The interchange grill visor is very sturdy. The shape of the helm itself is perfect. The suspension liner is great and I am going to attempt to fight in it as received from Beathan.

More Later :D

Duke Jean Richard Malcolmson, KSCA

h. All parts of the helm that might come into contact with the wearer’s head shall be padded with
a minimum of ½ inch (13 mm) of resilient or closed-cell foam, or shall be suspended in such a
way as to prevent injurious contact with the wearer. Similarly, parts of the helm, which might
come in contact with the wearer’s neck or body, should be padded.

(from the Armour Standards)

So suspension is okay, but there may be regional variations. :)

I ordered a set of arms from them about a month ago... can't wait to see how they turned out... Nothing but good expectations at this point.
