WTB: Used, Beat-up, Globose Breastplate

Evening All!
Alright. I have come to the conclusion that I need a Globose breastplate to speed up my kit. Now here's the interesting part - It doesn't matter how beat up it. If it's scratched, dented, rusted - really anything except holes. No backplate either.

I have basic armouring skills, so I have the ability to remove any rust, dents or anything else. The only reason I wouldn't make one myself is mainly because I don't own any dishing forms.

Price: Since it'll be in such a condition I want it cheap. So. I'm on a low budget :D

Size: 40'' chest - I'm quite the walking twig.

Gauge: 16, preferably.

Alright - that should do it, shoot me pics if you have anything of interest. thanks in advance!

You might want to talk to Cet over at Rough from the Hammer.

Thanks Seawolf2k.
Wow, that really is great stuff. I had to explore Google for a while to finally find it. But there's one problem, I'm looking for rolled edges.

Anyone wish to challenge the price of $36?

FYI, Justin... Cet's the guy who made my Bascinet, so you've seen his work.

Cheers!

$25 in 16 ga.

I'd still go with Cet's stuff personally.

Yeah- but watch it on the shipping- I looked at those some time back, and $25.00 is a screaming good buy for a 16 gauge breastplate, even as unfinished as those are - but when you add in the $50.00 shipping cost, it's not so good... Add to that their failure to answer my emailed questions about the piece, I'd say go with somebody else.

My Google-fu sucks. What's the URL for Cet's site?

I believe it's http://www.valhallaleather.com/

I could be wrong, though.

Dave, if you're out there you can answer this too.

Can anyone confirm that Dave's are hammered rather that pressed like Rob's?... Though Rob's are more bulbious and of a design I was looking for - but $50 shipping is a little too much.

And that's the URL I found, Saritor. Dave got back to me and said that the site was outdated. And the prices have changed.

Having seen pictures of Dave's workshop, I'm pretty sure they'd be beaten... I could be wrong though, so definitely don't take my word for it! Hope you get one you want, Justin.

Hi guys, Mine are hammered not pressed. Also the Vallhalla site is several years old and I don't have any admin powers over it so it's out dated . The breastplates I make are much more of a period shape than the one pictured on the site. The current profile is based on the Churburg #14. I make them to order based on customer measurements and with allowancews for hemming edges and trimming for ideal fit. Shipping to CA on a BP would be about $15.00

they're cheaper by the dozen :)

I'd attach pictures but it's beyond me :( A new website is schedualed for soon after Pennsic.

I can send pics via e-mail.

How much are you charging for the globose breastplate? I might want one this fall for another kit I am working on, after I finish my current kit (and my son's) Also, does Cet have a website somewhere?

Thanks
Brucer

A website should be up shortly after Pennsic. The breast plates are $55 in stainless and $45 in mild for upto a 48" chest.

CET the old site priced out the Churburg at $135 for stainless, what would be the shipping to 32303 Tallahassee Florida????

I'm so glad someone found the old site again. I hope you will post the new site on AA when you get it up and running. The poor folk of the world Salute you :D 8)
