FS: Dark Age/Viking clothes, axes & accessories!
Hello, good sirs and ladies,
I'm wanting to sell my first real costume for event-going. It consists of a Museum Replicas "Viking" tunic and pair of black pants with ties at the waist and ankles, the suede brown low-boots that they advertise in MRL, also, and several other items. The shoes are size 12, and the tunic and pants are both one size fits all, and they fit me, and look pretty good, even with my 32" waist and 38" chest! They'll go much larger, with ease. Here's a detailed description of the other parts.
-A small, sturdy leather pouch with a string at the top for the opening and to mount it on the belt. It's 7" long.
-A necklace that was hand made by a local vendor at a faire. (or so he said)
-A horn that I don't know what to do with (it has a hole in the bottom, as I attempted to make it a blowing horn, but it's a bit smal of a holel, and the horn is now about 11" in length around the curve. It needs some cleaning to get shiny again, as I had leather over it for a costume horn, but the quality was poor, so I removed it.
-A supple, 52" long belt that I made myself using a modern buckle and a flat piece of brass that I cut, and then put nails through (rather like rivets, except with their ends turned rather than peened) to secure it. The buckle is secured by a pair of threads knotted through the overlapped leather. The belt is 1.5" wide, and there are two small grooves cut along it's length, as well.
-A leather cap made from stitched together and semi-hardened pieces of leather that I made myself, with wool edging. The pictures should tell all. It was made for a head about 23" in circumference.
I also have two axeheads. One began life as a cheap Indian piece, and I've since cut it down to size and mounted it on a long pole, but if it sells I'll remove it for shipping. I believe the blade is 11" in length around the edge, and some 8.5" high. It's very light, and well made.
The second is the huge (18" blade, 6.5 lb.) Albion Grendel Axe. It's in great condition, except where I rather carelessly took a hammer to the bottom, back edge of the socket to tighten it over a previous shaft. It's easily mendable, of course.
I'm hoping to get $125 for all of the stuff together, if someone would be kind enough to take it all... I'm selling mainly because I need to pay for things like gas and stuff these days, and have very little cash to spare. I'm a student, but my tough and fast-paced schedule (taken at my own will) doesn't allow for me to do much work. So, I'd appreciate someone buying all of this stuff! The clothing will be dry cleaned before shipping, and I'll see what I can do about the suede shoes. The axeheads will be polished or fixed as good as I can get them before shipment, and I'll make sure everything is in good order!
If someone wants something individually, please give me an offer. I'm going to wait a few days to see if anyone wants it all, as I'd rather have it go out as a whole to save me some time, and money on shipping overall.
Oh, I accept paypal or money orders. Buyer(s) will pay shipping for the stuff.
Thanks!
-Gregory-

(Thank God I've cut my hair! The tunic, pants and shoes are the ones for sale, as is the belt, but it's been changed... Darkened and with the addition of the makeshift strapend. The hat is NOT the same!)

Hey there,
If you decide to sell them seperately, I would like prices on the hat, tunic, and pants. (Shoes are too big for me
). I may be able to buy one or two of those from you.
I wish I had $125, because that is a great price for all those things!

Catherine's Quest is no longer in business. I may open back up at some point in the future. Thank you all for all of your support over these last few years. It has meant the world to me.

Hey Cat,
The tunic has been worn several days with mail over it, so some of the trim has a bit of fraying here and there, but with a few proper snips the thing would look good as new (as soon as I get it cleaned!) MRL asks $45, so I'd like $25 for it. The pants are in great condition, and MRL asks $39. I'll go $20 on those, too. For the hat, $15.00 will work.
Thorfinn, for the Albion axehead, how would $25.00 sound? I believe I paid $65 to get it shipped to me, and since I uglified the bottom edge of the socket and shipping is still to be added to that, I think it sounds a fair price.
As for the other stuff... Other axhead, $20... Belt and pouch, $5.00 each, shoes... $30, horn... $8.00.
Folks, $125 will save a total of several ten dollar bills on all of this stuff, I figure, if I piece it out. So, if you really want it all at that good deal, get it!
I'm going to wait some before I start piecing it out, but those are the prices, so you get the idea.

Hey guys,
I believe Stephen will be buying the stuff. If not, I'll let you all know.
I've decided I'm also going to get rid of my 16 gauge, butted mail shirt and coif. They're zinc-coated mild steel. the set looks really good, and I split the haubergeon up the front and back for ease of movement. The chest is supposed to go to about 48" comfortably, I believe. It weighs 30 lbs, and the coif another 6-7 lbs. Here's a picture of me in the shirt, and the coif is made to match...
I want $125 for the set, or $105 for the shirt and $20 for the coif seperately.
Thanks!

Steve stole my fuzzy hat! Bad! Bad Steve!
Hehe, it was too big for me any way. I just realized it was for a 23" head. I suppose I could make myself one........cause I'm not busy or anything....... and I don't have nearly enough projects on my "to do" list.

I changed the prices on the mail...
Also, I'm selling all of my Egyptian stuff, if anyone's interested.
www.bronze-warrior.com/egyptian.html
The cap is $45, the apron is $30, $40 for the axe, and the kilt+belt is $30. If someone wants it all, I'll go $120.
I've also got a tanged spear and three javelins on my other weapons page...
http://www.bronze-warrior.com/other.html
I'd like $40 for the tanged spear, and $45 for the set of the three javelins (I'll only sell them as a set, to save on the shipping hassle). All of those things (Egyptian stuff and the four spears) would be $175, if someone wants it all...
All details about the pieces are on my site.
