I'm have to end the auction for the maille now as I need to get Kindred to the crematory before the day heats up.
Timothy agrees with this and I am very thankful to everyone.

One won't take the place of the other, but the pup will definately be well loved as it came in so close to the passing of your Kindred. If my finances weren't such a mess I'd gladly bid on the tank bottoms.
I'd just like to really know who it was that bought the puppy for me.... it's kinda spooky to a small degree but we are very thankful for him.

A mitzvah is only truly a mitzvah if it is left anonymous. Just thank everybody who might have done it, I'm sure the person did it anonymously and wishes to keep it that way. And no, wasn't me... I don't have the details, the money or the knowledge that it would be more good than harm to do something like that, but it was a very cool thing to do if it was something that was well received.
Good on you whoever did it.

I've been getting sporadic 404 errors browsing the site lately......
And yes Cat, somebody purchased a puppy for me last night. No idea who but we're enjoying him. We've named him Nanuk

I've been watching this thread for the last few days and only now can post. I lost my white shepard Apollo early friday morning with no notice. It seems he died of bloat and only showed any problems late in the evening thurday. He was my 24/7 companion.
Its been very nice to see the responses from other posters, and sometimes shared pain makes it lighter for all.
It seems from your post that he was truly a part of your family. Nanuk seems like a wonderful gift.
I wish you well, the healing comes slow, but I'll bet the puppy will lighten your heart and mind

Hummm, you made me think my 2 puppy are getting older everyday and it will soon be time for them to leave us. but at least i know they had an happy-puppy life
btw I highly prefer having 2 dogs than 1 alone, they play together, have different mood and show jalousy;P so while your new gift is young, you might consider this option
as for auction, what would be a correct starting price for the dishing form? that might save me from making them.
is the mail is still available i might be interested too

LordWulf, I hope at least now you will keep your Armour and those who have bid will let you off the auction, if that is what you'd like. I am happy for you that someone was so kind as to give you such a fine gift as a puppy. You said something about Kindred being known from helping in the Hurricane, when you feel more up to talking about it, I'd love to hear about him, He was a beautiful animal. I hope Nanuk brings you as much joy as kindred did. I am also sorry for all who have posted about recently losing a pet, that's a very hard and sad day. I know I'll have to go through it again and it will kill me as Frankie runs to me when he is scared, sad, happy or sick. He lays at my feet constantly.

Alright, I think I'm alive again..... damn tequila.......
Asatru yes
I can share more of Kindred if you'd like..... I got him from a couple who were moving and weren't able to keep him any longer. He fit right in, got along with our chihuaha and cat and it was like he was meant to be here....
It was really funny when I first brough Kindred home, because of his size and weight, he had problems walking on smooth floors like our linoleum and hardwood..... was like a water buffalo ice skating in a china shop at first.....
He was a good dog, never had any problems with him, and I noticed today that I actually some of his bad habits like breathing over my shoulder while I was eating...... of all days I would have wanted that it was today as I ate my turkey and fixins......
Kindred loved to go to Fighter Practices also, I'll post a pic of him at one locally from last year.... I wanted to make him armour but never got around to it, I'm already making the templates for Nanuk though and will be making a nice leather harness for him today.....
During Hurricane Ivan we weren't here, we went to Jacksonville and came back the day the eye passed by..... we came back to a disaster zone. Luckily we took no damage at all ( cept for the chainsaw holes made in the roof clearing limbs ). There were people cut off from the roads and stuff so as we worked on clearing a path to let them out, Kindred went in with water bottles on several occassions, and would ferry water to us as we worked clearing stuff away. We tried to send food that the red cross brought but he ate that instead LOL...... once we got a lot of the bigger stuff cut up we had to move it, so we put stuff on the shelter halves I had and we would pull them out.... well Kindred went over and grabbed one and started backing up with it and dragging it out with us.... we made a makeshift harness for him and he took out a lot of stuff..... pretty amazing given the conditions at the time..... he worked his ass off with us.
It was great just having him in the yard as nobody would dare to come in.... we had to put a doorbell outside the fence because were intimated by his sheer size.... and looking at the Huskies on the dog show today I can see why..... at over 100lbs he was a monster compared to most of them.... but he was the nicest dog around..... There was one night some guy had been casing the park and had stolen a ladies purse.... Kindred chased him down and in true Husky form, tackled him and was playing with him...... was funny to see and if I can find it we have a picture that was in the newspaper of Kindred standing on the guys head panting and wagging his tail like it was all a game.....
It's funny, I look down at my feet now, and Nanuk is there laying over the AC vent like Kindred would do.....
I made an error in saying he was getting an award, Kindred is being put in for the award next week and if the mayor signs the paper they're gonna have a small ceremony when his ashes get back and give him the award..... I think that would be totally kewl...... he was really a great dog and will really be missed...... the reactions of people in the neighbourhood are disbelief and surprise.... the one older lady who would come over and feed him beggin strips almost fell off her porch crying last night when she found out..... he was just that great of a dog.....
I'm far from wealthy, we live in a trailer, have problems with bills and shit like a lot of other people..... but when I think about my family, and Kindred...... I'm the richest man in the world and wouldn't trade that for any amount of money.......
I really do appreciate everything ya'll have done, it really does mean a lot to me and if you ever see me at an event, feel free to come on over and drink a horn with me, my camp is always open.
It's bout time to go eat some turkey and sound our horns ( the neighbours get a kick out of this ). I'll be back online after a while or maybe tomorrow mornin.....

LordWulf,Sounds like kindred was a hero in the area. I look forward to seeing the pic of him standing on the head of his criminal catch. Hey guy, I don't know much about what happens to the life force in animals after death but I truly believe the life force of my Red Wolf "Rowdy" was put into the puppy that came to us shortly after Rowdy passed. He acts the same and has the same personality as Rowdy. I kind of think that when we lose a pet that we truly loved and that loved us, that life force is passed to a new pup or what ever the animal happens to be and we have a chance at getting him back or passing. I know that may sound far fetched to a lot of people but hey that's what I "WANT" to believe.

Kindred was an awesome looking animal.

Lord Wulf,
The maille arrived today. I am very impressed that with everything else on your agenda you still managed to get this out immediately.
Thanks and Best Wishes
