Why are these sizes so wierd? Well, I keep making shields for myself, and then I remember I need the money because my wife just quit her job. If I have a few orders for BIG shields, I make whatever I can from the wood left over. I like to be unique, so these odd sizes appeal to me. The curves are arch-style (like in the effigies). I particularly love the narrow and long ones- they are really elegant and you can move them FAST.
