My girlfriend keeps pressuring me to get back into SCA fighting. I think I should marry this one.

Trouble is, I'm more into LH than SCA. So, I want a helm that I can at least use as a piece of background material in c. 1300 LH. Used but not abused, or unused but I've got a low price range. Only looking for Northern Europe, 1250-1325 in general appearance.

My head is 22.5 inches around the forehead. Around the ears and nose its 23.5 inches. I've had BAD experiences with using padding to compensate for a too-big-for-me-helm, so I'd prefer not to go that route.

Also looking for arms/legs, will post other threads for those.

best price going.

Irish is right, it's a terrific price. But the Pembridge is a bit late for J.Morgan's purposes, isn't it? I'm no expert, but I've come to associate that general shape with the 1330-1360 kind of time, while J.Morgan is looking for 1250-1325, which should (I think, though I'm no expert) mean he'd need something flatter-topped, more Mac Bible.

yeah you are right. But a great thing about Beathan is show him a pic of what you want (which I believe the same helm with a flat top instead of a dome) and I bet he will whip it up for you. Probably cost the same to. :)

Armourer Eric, a/k/a James River Armory has a pembridge great helm on ebay with a buy it now of $155.

go to www.jamesriverarmoury.com and he has a link to his ebay offerings. Helm looks nice and he has a great rep here on the archive for quality work.

Not sure if this helps because if memory serves the pembridge great helm dates to 1370??? The style existed for a long time prior to the pembridge version so....

hope that helps
