This chemise/smock (also available from HE) And nothing else. No bra, no undies. :
Gwen does that carbon dating hold for all of what we tend to think of as the Herjolfsnes garments? Such that we (the collective reenactment community) has been wrongly thinking ourselves properly dressed 14th century folk.
Wow- try to get some work done and I miss all the excitement!
Let’s see if I can address the questions in order:
Uberfist:
Smock (which is included with the set), stockings, garters. As for the subject of panties/knickers, last week a gal in the UK sent me a fascinating bit of information which I have not had the time to follow up on:
"...an excerpt from the court record of a rape trial in mid-fourteenth-century Paris, in which the plaintiff stated that the accused la jeta àterre et avala ses braies (threw her to the ground and pulled down her knickers). Apparently no special comment was made about this, so presumably the court found it perfectly normal for the 12-year-old plaintiff to have been wearing braies....the fact that the accused had needed to pull the braies down rather suggests that they weren’t a split-crotch type....â€Â

Considering that no two extant garments are cut exactly alike, I think it's a great idea to consider if it gives the "right" look, then proceed ahead.
Gwen, this is some great info, esp. the undies reference. The connection with the henpecked husband images I find especially intruiging. You should post it over in HR or IC.
Do you not know that in the service... one must always choose the lesser of two weevils?
