WANTED: Large, bargrilled, durable loaner-helm

Post by Aaron »

Good Morrow,

I'm setting up the loaner-armour bit. We've got the start on body armour, a goret, legs and arms. The demi-gauntlets are done...

We need a good LARGE, bargrilled, durable loaner helm.

Does anyone have one sitting around the can let go of cheaply (and quickly)?

By cheaply I'm talking around $100 or so (if possible). We can paint the mild steel.

It's got to be large because it will have to fit a host of people. We can add padding...but we "take out the seams a little" for people with a large brain... ;)

Thanks,
With respect,

-Aaron

Aaron,

I have just the helmet you are seeking. It is brand new from Ironmonger and way too big to fit me. I can get you the measurements tonight, but it would be large enough to fit just about anyone. I paid $140 for the munitions grade basinet with the flip visor. It is unpainted (I have started polishing it ) and the top is made of 12ga and sides 14ga mild steel. I was going to either send it back or put it up on Ebay. I will sell it for $100 plus shipping. I can send you pictures tonight when I get home from work. One just like it can be viewed at:

Let me know if you are interested.

Thanks,

Bill

I have a heavy large 14 G stainless great helm with a bargrill set up. It also has this really bad looking steel plate with rough cut rectangle holes cut in it. The plate is behind teh bars. If you just took out teh plate. (spot welded in) it would be a very safe helm. has two holes on sides to afix a chinstrap as well. The helm is stainless but teh bars are not. I paid 100.00 for this helm and then told a guy what I wanted as far as teh inner plate goes and he totally screwed it up. I have no way of fixing it. He also charged me 50.00 for doing this. I paid him to get my helm back and now im disgusted with the whole deal. If you want this helm for 50.00 + shipping your more than welcome to it. For an armourer it would be a snap to fix. If you want pix just email me at theWarLord@cfl.rr.com and I will get them out to you.
