13 gauge Viking Helm with brass for sale *reduced price!*

Post by ender701 »

Hello everyone. This is my second piece for sale, it was initially a prototype design for a dark age viking era inspired helm with brass occular and crest. I wanted to use as little bar work as possible on the piece, and reinforce the brass with 13 gauge mild steel, which proved to be a more difficult task than planned! The helm still turned out pretty nice, if a bit rough, but was a learning experience in its design and will help with future pieces. It is complete black painted 13 gauge mild steel, with 18 gauge hammered brass, and mild steel rivets. Meets all sca atandards on gaps and construction, overall I'm proud of the helm, could have turned out nicer, but none the worse for wear.
Helmet measures large/xlarge, easily fitting a 23.5inch- 24.5 inch head with padding.
Asking $200 plus shipping, but as always, Im a nice guy and willing to negotiate. Email is ender701@hotmail.com. Helm is immediatley available for shipping.

sorry

Post by ender701 »

Thank you,but sorry, Im not interested in any trades right now. I appreciate the offer, and I could use a basic Hauberk, but .... No, I need to save for my wedding here in September, so I appreciate the interest and consideration, I need to raise funds. But, down the road, I would definatley be interested in making pieces with trades.
Thanks Eyvander, I feel you've always been in my corner and appreciate very much the help with corinthian sale. Thanks for encouraging and supporting a new struggling armorer!
Responded to Bjorn's email. Negotiation in the works, but helm still up for sale to those interested.
Thanks everyone for the interest and support!

I am newly devorced, so I could buy it, but it would have to be a weekly amount. I wish I could somehow get a helm though. You make any lesser priced? SCA legal?

As I am

Post by ender701 »

As I am also a Divorcee, I understand that plight and would really like to help a brother out! i Im actually in the middle right now of 2 commissions, but i have another viking started that i was going to base on this style with some functional changes, improving on look and asthetic design. When I am nearing completion, which should be sometime soon, I'll post photos and give you first dibs on the piece, if that sounds good. My personal email is ender701@hotmail.com if you would like to take this off the forum or have any personal questions you'd like to ask.
