Stonekeep Armory Review

Post by William_Pynnoke »

It has been a long time overdue on my part, but this is a review of Stonekeep Armory. Michael is a wonderful, customer service oriented person, who goes out of his way to satisfy his customers. My first purchase from Stonekeep was a pair of "in-stock" stainless splinted legs that were a sale on the Armor Archive. Several emails were exchanged prior to the sale and Michael's replies came back promptly. I received the product within three days of placing the order. I am new to the SCA and combat in general. I had a few physical problems and was unable get a marshal's opinion on the fit. To me everything looked like it was a good fit. Well, several weeks later it turns out that with padding, the inside of the knee was not fully covered. Also, I am somewhat of a freak in dimensions. I was at the time 6'0 390lbs (I have lost a good bit of weight since) and have an inseam of 29". So the cuisse was way too long. Personally, I was not going to contact Michael because it was a discount sale, the time that passed was long, and I felt it would not be fair to ask him to help me out. However, desperation got the better part of me and I emailed him to ask what my options I might have, with no expectation that a vendor would help out someone who gotten himself into this situation. To my great surprise Michael had several suggestions and was willing to help me in any way possible to get the legs so that they would fit. I sent the legs back and he was able to add pavlets to correct the knee problem and replaced the cuisse with one that would fit this short legged freak (I believe that he created the length options because of this situation). Not only did he fix my problem, but added options for others as well! My next purchase was a pair of "in stock" stainless pauldons. As before shipment was lighting fast and the product was great. Finally, I purchased a pair of "in stock" stainless splinted arms. Once again everything flowed like honey and the product arrived in record time. My only regret was that I purchased a helmet before Stonekeep starting making them :o) Overall here are my ratings from 1 to 10 with 10 being the highest:

1. Customer Service - 10
2. Value - 10
3. Quality - 10
4. Shipping - 10
5. Communication - 10

With Michael and Stonekeep Armory you can not go wrong!

Thanks,

Bill
