What would you pay for Titanium Lamellar?

So I have gone through all the work of pricing out mass production of Ti Lamellar and I don't think it is feasible. But instead of assuming, I'll ask. If it took 250-400 lamellar plates to make your suit, how much would you pay per plate? I am talking about selling a box of plates, you would build it yourself.
250-400 plates varies on your size. I amd 6'2", 240 lbs and mine took 362 plates. I made full shoulders on mine.

Actually while we are at it, I would also consider offering Aluminum and Stainless. What would be a reasonable asking price for those materials as well?

If they're the tombstone shape, easily $0.75 USD a plate in Ti.

Ok, thanks for confirming my suspicions. 75 cents doesn't even cover the cost of the Ti, let alone making a die, costs of production, shipping and hopefully a meager profit. $1 will cover the material cost but nothing else. The absolute cheapest that I can see making it for would be $1.75 and that is only if I could be sure of selling about 20,000 plates within a couple of months. So I am going to write off that project for now.
The other materials may still work but I am not certain. So if you would possibly have an interest in Aluminun, Stainless, Spring, etc., let me know you price expectations. Thanks.

With enough notice I would pay 2 bucks a scale for Ti. At that price tho it may be nice to have a sizing scale so the buyer would now how many to buy. It would not be cool to buy 300 and find out you only needed 200.

Yeah, I think this is the wrong economy to be trying this. You're fighting the flow. There will always be a few who will pay the most for a specialty product--and titanium is a wonderful material for what is done with armor in the SCA--but most will just dream and go without.

I bought my Aluminum Tombstone Plates from Fleix and I am so very happy with the kit I made out of them. I hope to buy more in the future.
